Medical Aid Society of Malawi (MASM) on Thursday donated MK2 million to the Institute of People Management Malawi (IPMM), a professional grouping of human resources practitioners, towards its annual lakeshore conference.

The conference, under the theme 'Energising Business Leadership: A Focus on Human Capital Management,' will be held in Mangochi from October 27 to 29, 2016.

Speaking after receiving the money, IPMM vice-secretary general Prescott Nkhata said the funds will go a long way in addressing some of the financial needs for the conference.

He said: “We are grateful for the money, which will go a long way in addressing some of the financial needs towards the preparations of the conference. MASM has supported us through the years.

“People management and health go hand-in-hand; hence, the coming in of MASM is not only timely, but also essential.”

In her remarks, MASM marketing officer Ednah Kamwendo said the company made the donation as people management is central to creation of a healthyworking environment.
